Under city hall, this basement restaurant is part of a much larger labyrinth. Comprised of multiple seating areas and no actual bar, the food is tremendous, and they have plenty of beer and wine. The atmosphere is more contained and formal, more for dinner, especially for a couple than a place to get drunk and socialize.

Great food and very popular as a tourist hotspot

The Arche Noah alone makes the Ratskeller worth a visit, but everything about this restaurant/bar is gorgeous. Under city hall, this basement restaurant is part of a much larger labyrinth. Had a great dinner here the other night - service is impeccable!

The food and beer is excellent, but it's a little bit too expensive. If money is not an issue, this probably would be a 5 star restaurant for you!

Eating in the Rathaus undergrounds was kind of the attraction that made me and my friend go here to eat some authentic german food. He ordered the wurstel sample and i ordered the beef with horseradish sauce. Both were really good, although the beef was underseasoned. But the experience was twenty times as better with draught franziskaner. Although not cheap, the München Ratskeller is not the only restaurant in munchen with high prices from countries with low currency compared to euro, so i would say it's really worth the visit.

A very beautiful and big restaurant. Foods were tasty. Polite staff. I recommend it.

Nice place, good stuff

The service in this restaurant was on another level. I would never forget that I was able to speak in German, English, Spanish and probably Korean if I would have ask the waiter. He was great at service. The food was delicious too. Totally recommended

The inside of the restaurant is spectacular, with gorgeous wall paintings and glass stained windows. The restaurant is nicely organized with private eating booths so it’s romantic and cozy for 2 people but will also be accommodating for a large group of people. Hence ambience is 5 star. The food was delicious, nice big portions, very authentic German and came fast. Menu had many options for drinks. Additionally, the service was excellent, very professional, friendly and helpful. Would most definitely want to come again and recommend.

This restaurant has a very good service with quality food, wine and beers.

Nice location, service can be better. There is 6 people working and maybe 10 tables. We waited 6 minutes for the bill. Maybe would be nice if you don't need to ask for something, we sat with 2 empty drinks for 5 minutes too and looked around for service. Thank you for your respons. To add, your waiter was flirting with her colleague and its worrying that you don't trust the word of your customer. She wasn't busy with us, but with her colleagues. There were really only 10 tables.. She forgot to bring the bill and we needed to ask 2 times.. Because of your reaction, I changed the rating to 1 star

Pricey food, poor taste and awful service. A full German experience.

Really nice location buuuuut.. Amazingly bad service. About 65 minutes for 2 salads and a flamenkuche. Then another 10 minutes to be able to pay. Just.. Don't go there if you are in a hurry or simply have other plans that day.

This is a great place to have lunch or dinner with friends and family. This place is a bit under the ground but cool and amazing in that the ambiance is great. Excellent food. Service is far below the food quality. Not very friendly in general plus average German skills. Message: be thankful that we serve you. Unintended dropped napkins are not replaced automatically. Waiter disappeared for 20 Min. No one else took care of us.

When I sat down, a basket of 2 pretzels was brought to the table and the waiter said, "for you". Little did I know, I was charged for them at the end of the meal because I ate one of them, thinking they were complimentary. The waiter was also very pushy when he brought the check out and kept telling me the tip was not included, despite the fact that tipping isn't necessary in Germany. Food was fine, over-priced.

One of the best, if not the best restaurant in München... you can just walk in, no reservations needed... typically crowded, but lots of space.. at every table you will get your personal space.. Meals and beverages are very good.. price is not true the roof... the staff is professional... menus are available in multiple languages

Great ambience, a bit expensive and no Weisswurst :(. Waiter worked hard to upsell food and watch out for the "free pretzels" delivered to your table - I figured they'd charge charge us and I was right. They are worth the €1.50 though ... Good ? of course...

Amazing service. Got the Rindfleisch Roulade and on my request the potato puree was swapped for baked potatoes. Try it out!

What a fun night did we have at this place. Food was great and the waiter was excellent. We visit the place the 15 of February and were part of Valentines Day celebration.

Good fish, very touristy but still nice atmosphere

Although pricey, we were there to celebrate my mother in law birthday. Without telling them in advance, they offered a piece of cake with bengals and candles on it. Plus the food was really tasty and the place really impressive. A must if you come to München. They have the menus in almost all languages!!!
